Jimmy's relationship with Jules at first is frightful and untrusting though as she and him spends more time together he begins to trust her and begins to return to his old self after being isolated for decades with only Shadow for company. Jimmy's relationship with his Father is also said to be good and have some kind of mentoring for Jimmy's future position as the Silo's most important head. Jimmy's relationship with his Mother is shown to be good and he was devastated with her death. It is stated that to inherit the posation of IT head he would have to stay in education for a extra year. In the end I think Hugh might have bitten off more than he could chew by trying to create two concurrent silo stories as they played out in dust.Jimmy is first shown to be in class with his friend Paul which is stated that they are as thick as thieves, He is also stated to think that a girl sat in front of him known as Sarah Jenkins, though they would never have a relationship. I get that it's something that had to be, as it sets up other things in the future, but he makes it like a centerpiece to the book and I just had a hard time caring since obviously juliet is going to succeed in this task. Juliet swimming down to the pump in Silo 17 felt like it took forever to finish, and an inordinate amount of time was spent on this sequence when it wasn't nearly carrying the same plot significance of the rebellion happening in Silo 18. In Wool, I simply had a hard time caring about some of his action sequences. There are a few things though that kinda get me. He's a master of tension and cliffhangers. First off I think Hugh Howey has accomplished something great with this trilogy, and I love his writing style.
